Sydney truely stopped for Mardis Gras 2010 as many from all walks came together to celebrate the worlds most colourful gay celebration.
On saturday the 6th of March, dusk turned to night and the Hordern Pavillion filled with the gay, straight, beautfiul and the absolutley bizarr. This year proved to be hotter then the last with it’s superstar DJ line- up.
Special guest Kelly Rowland dropped her recent number one hit with French House DJ David Guetta. Guetta proving to be more than expected, mixing dirty beats that tantalised the whole room to get up and dance. The unpredictable George Michael, sent the crowd into an excited confusion when he sent a look alike out and disguised himself as a dancer. Creating a stir it was disappointing he 0nly peformed one song.
As the night partied on number 1 DJ of 25 years Carl Cox, kicked the party into full gear. Not a single body was sitting.
All the way from Italy the prodigious techno talent and openly gay DJ Dusty Kid set the Hordern alight. The UK’s Bimbo Jones joined the line-up as well, world renowned for their extremely fun sets and with some 30 club chart number ones under their belt for remixes with everyone from Lady Gaga to Britney and Annie Lennox.
The event may not be for the conservative but it outshone any mainstream music event. The music, spectacular shows, visually alluring lights, errotic atomsphere and a crowd that pulled you in to their world of feathers, fun and a whole lot of glitter.
