Resource: CrossPort transgender group

CrossPort, Cincinnati’s gender support group, offers many services including an extensive library, a speaker’s bureau and a support hotline.

Individuals in need of support can contact the organization at (513) 919-4850. CrossPort advises potential callers to keep the following in mind when calling:

Callers can usually expect a phone reply within 48 hours. Our CrossPort phone line is a digital mobile telephone in the possession of a CrossPort board member at all times.

The phone is answered with a simple, “Hello,” to assure anonimity. There will be times when the operator cannot talk, because it is carried to work. Please be assured you can safely leave a message and your call will be returned in confidence at a time of your choosing. If you choose not to leave a number, please indicate in the message you will call back. Your call is important to CrossPort. Leaving a number with the voicemail will not compromise your security or your privacy.

Caller ID is used by CrossPort. If Caller ID security remains an issue, you can implement Caller ID Block on your phone by dialing *67 prior to dialing the hotline number.

CrossPort has regular monthly meetings including the transgender support group twice a month on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month, and the crossdressers support group meets on the first Wednesday of each month. Girl’s Night Out meets on the second Saturday of each month at a local nightclub and the social meeting convenes at a local restaurant on the third Thursday of the month.
