I’m all for ridiculing ridiculous things, like anti-marriage equality arguments. LeftTake.com shares a list of “Top Ten Reasons to Make Gay Marriage Illegal” that apparently debuted on Facebook. Click over to read the whole list, but this is my favorite:
04) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn’t changed at all like many of the principles on which this great country was founded; women are still property, blacks still can’t marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.
There are no fallacy-free, factual or constitutional arguments to support banning same-sex marriage. Opponents of marriage equality make ridiculous claims and it’s long past time to start shaming them for it.
