Black and White Cancels Prom

It’s truly an irritating aspect to know that a town can’t get over their fears of the unknown, to embrace a changing world, one of which mind you they can’t stop from doing so; it baffles me. Constance McMillien mearly wanted to wear a tux, is that so wrong? Women wear pants suits now, instead of being forced to wear skirts and such of the like as their professional attire, how is that so different? Not to mention that such a blatant and resounding ‘NO’ is a violation of her rights not only as a citizen but as a human being, they’re clothes for godsakes! Now I neither condone nor condemn the ideology of homosexuality, but to cancel a school wide event for the sole purpose of preventing the affirmation of such an ideal is most outrageously…well, stupid. Not only does it remove a time-honored tradition from a student body, something that some may have looked forward to their entire high school career. Face the facts people, this world is no longer-nor was it ever for that matter-black and white; we have vivid greens and pinks now, yellows and oranges, purples and turquoises, it’s a never-ending aurora borealis of cultures and lifestyles…GET USED TO IT!!!!
