Hawaii Island Pride (HIP) is sponsoring the first screening in Hawaii of the highly acclaimed documentary Beyond Gay, The Politics of Pride at the Aloha Theatre, 1.15.2010 @ 7pm.

Beyond Gay: The Politics of Pride is a moving portrait of the international LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi, and Transsexual) Pride Movement and Campaign for Human Rights. In addition to screening this amazing educational film, the intention of this event is to raise awareness and let our Lawmakers & Representatives know that there is a large constituency of LGBT and Straight supporters of Equality and Civil Rights, who want to see the Unions of Same-Sex Couples protected equally under Hawaii State Law.

This event will be attended by local political leaders, who Support HB 444, HIP, and the Pride Movement. We invite you to this special event to show your support, hear from our local politicians, and have the privilege of viewing an amazing film that is sure to inspire you.

Tickets are available at the Kona Wine Market (808.329.9400) & Kona Stories (808.324.0350) or online at www.hawaiiislandpride.com

The sales of each ticket will go toward the funding of this incredible event and any proceeds thereafter will go towards putting on the 2010 Pride Weekend. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you Friday, January 15th at the Aloha Theatre.

Amnesty International USA: TAKE ACTION NOW! A proposed bill storming through Uganda’s parliament is one of the most severe pieces of anti-homosexuality legislation in the entire world! If passed, it would establish an alarming precedent that would virtually annihilate the human rights of Uganda’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) population.

Stop Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Bill!
